How the Slot RTP & Expected Loss Calculator works
RTP is the share of all wagered money a game pays back over a very long time. The rest is the house edge. This calculator multiplies your total wagering by the house edge to show the average cost of a session — real sessions can be far better or worse because of variance.
Formula
- Total wagered = bet × spins
- House edge = 100% − RTP
- Expected loss = total wagered × house edge
- Hourly cost = bet × spins per hour × house edge
Worked example
500 spins at 1 on a 96% RTP slot wager 500; the average loss is 20 (about 24 per hour at 600 spins an hour).
Frequently asked questions
Why can I lose much more (or win) than the expected loss?
RTP is an average over millions of spins. Volatile slots have huge swings, so a short session is mostly luck.
Play responsibly
Calculators describe maths, not outcomes. Gambling is for adults aged 18+ and can be addictive — set limits and never stake money you cannot afford to lose.
