How the Arbitrage (Sure Bet) Calculator works
An arbitrage exists when the implied probabilities of the best available odds add up to less than 100%. Enter the best price for each outcome and the calculator shows the stake to place on each so the return is identical whichever outcome wins.
Formula
- Arbitrage % = Σ (1 ÷ odds)
- Stake on outcome i = total × (1 ÷ oddsᵢ) ÷ Arbitrage %
- Return = total ÷ Arbitrage %
Worked example
Best odds 2.10 and 2.05 give 47.6% + 48.8% = 96.4%. On a 100 total, stake 49.4 and 50.6; the return is 103.7 either way (+3.7).
Frequently asked questions
Why are real arbitrage chances rare?
Odds move quickly, bookmakers limit or void bets that look like arbitrage, and stake rules differ by operator. Check each site’s terms before relying on it.
Play responsibly
Calculators describe maths, not outcomes. Gambling is for adults aged 18+ and can be addictive — set limits and never stake money you cannot afford to lose.
